Integration Timeline
Purpose:
Gathering information and specific dates to implement addressed content of BCIS course to enable student success in the core subjects.
Objective:
Setting a timeline for integration of applicable BCIS skills in order to benefit our students in the cross-curricular setting. Identifying specific skill-sets that students may apply to project-based instruction.
Goal:
To have a preliminary timeline created before the Christmas break beginning 12.18.2009.
Areas to Address:
The following are areas of concern which have been shared with me by colleagues with regard to our students' office computing skills. Members are requested to add any additonal areas they feel need to be addressed.
Preliminary Timeline of implementation of BCIS skills to ensure student success in the core areas.
January 2010
MS Word - Assign essay and OER projects formatted to MLA guidelines.
February - March 2010
MS Word - Assign reports with works cited formatted to MLA guidelines. Importation of charts from excel.
MS Excel - Rigorous exercises in computational formulas with emphasis on Charts and manipulation of data.
April - May 2010
MS Word - Assign research projects formatted to MLA guidelines. Emphasis on citations (parenthetical), and bibliographies.
MS Excel - Collaborate with the Science department to reinforce proper lab report formatting with emphasis on data analysis through use of charts and graphs.

PowerPoint - Slide timing, Transitions, Animations (excessive use)
